SFBA is here to promote boardsports, that's kiting, windsurfing and Standup Paddling BTW, and we want to see our  local retails thrive. Fortunately we have some excellent shops in the area that can supply all manner of gear.  In addition there are teachers and coaches operating out of these shops and working independently.  It's tough to run a shop when everything can be mail- ordered at the flick of mouse.  So give 'em the business!

 101 Surfsports:  New shop in San Rafael, right on the SR canal.  Carry everything from Kites to SUP Boards to Kayaks.  Oh yeah, they have surf boards too!  Rentals and lessons at their location. www.101surfsports.com

 Live 2 Kite:   Focus is on Kiting, but also have SUP and Wakeboards. Located in Marin County near the Larkspur Ferry.  www.Live2kite.com

Helm of the Sun Valley This shop with the odd sounding name is located in San Mateo and sells snow stuff in the winter and kite and windsurf gear in the warmer months.  Have been in business the longest of any of the windsurf shops.  They also have a regular swap and popular meet in the parking lot.  Check them out when you're on the Peninsula.   www.helmsports.com

Delta Windsurf  You can almost sail into the lobby of this shop!  Located on Sherman Island, right off the main highway, this shop is open three seasons and stocks windsurf, kite and SUP gear.   www.deltawindsurf.com
