| Coyote Point Promenade Fund - Urgent |
San Mateo Parks will be repairing the Promenade (and Bay Trail) at Coyote Point, including a study of
why the old one disintegrated. But, it will take several years. In the mean time, a temporary repair project has
been approved and $25,000 has already been raised, but another $10,000 is needed urgently to have 2 sandbag ramps created
in April. The SFBA is offering
a matching Fund of $1,000 to help with the temporary Repairs.

| Exploratorium Cam @ Crissy Field |
The San Francisco Boardsailing Association is collecting funds to get the Exploratorium camera back on line.
SFBA and windsurfer/orthopedic surgeon Kevin Stone are splitting the cost of a new web camera, a weatherproof climate
controlled housing, and special software that will allow more users to view the camera feed at the same time.
The Exploratorium will move in/over the next 4-5 years, so the investment will only ensure access to a camera
on the roof of the Palace of Fine Arts for that period of time.
The camera is a 26x zoom with very high
resolution. It will be controllable by visitors but each user will have sole use for a short amount of time as
shown on a count down clock, so it won’t be like the old days when the camera was jumping back and forth every
2 seconds. We are looking into having presets pictures taken at regular intervals so that we might have a page
where you can view recent pictures of key locations like the parking area, Anita Rock, Fort Point, etc.
regardless of where the camera is pointed in real time.
SFBA is looking into allowing the Coast Guard to
control the camera during search and rescue operations to improve on the water safety. If the Coast Guard finds
the camera to be a useful resource, then it may be easier to get permission from the City of San Francisco to
mount another camera on the roof of the Palace of Fine Arts once the Exploratorium has moved.
SFBA hopes to
raise in excess of $1,000 since the budget for the SFBA site improvement fund is not sufficient to cover the
project cost. If excess funds are raised, they will be earmarked for other improvement projects (e.g. SFBA is
currently investigating the possibility of repairing the damaged access ramps at Coyote Point Park).
