The Return of Mud Man

The Peninsula Chapter held a successful cleanup day on June 17 with more than 45 sailors showing up to make general improvements to the rigging and launch areas. One of the high-lights was the return of Mud Man. With Bob Prevett's lead, alias Mud Man, a total of 18 tires, 3 large hot water heaters and 1 motorcycle frame was fished out from the Bay.

Other improvements included additional gravel to the rigging area and major reworking of the bottom of the launch ramp with sandbags. Sewing close the sand bags required special skills for most of the sailors.

Lt. Bill Leddy from the US Coast Guard was on hand after the cleanup to answer questions regarding windsurfer rescues.

Thanks to all who attended for the help, especially those who contributed to the gravel fund. Special thanks to Randy Anderson and Bill Lennan for organizing the activities, Chris Klackle from the Windsurf Warehouse for providing the bagels and coffee, and Peter Lui from Peter's Cafe for providing the lunch.
