NEW - Site Steward Program. Your Chance to ACT
The Site Steward program will be a volunteer program for any kiteboarding site around the SF Bay Area. The spirit of the program is to volunteer to assist your fellow kiteboarders in promoting safety and protecting access. Many individuals do this regularly at every site around the Bay.
This program is a way to increase visibility of volunteers who give back some time to keep others safe.
Volunteers will receive Site Steward shirts to wear while they assist at their local ride spot.
Site stewards will help riders understand local safety guidelines, launching best practices, and help to protect access.

Volunteers who sign up for the site steward program and perform the task 10 times will get the below long sleeve quick dry shirt)
Volunteers who perform the task 20 times will get the below hoodie as well

Who can volunteer?
Anyone who kites and is willing to donate some time after you ride to help others at your local ride spot.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
We will have a sign up desk at events. Also you can email info@sfba.org to sign up.
Do I need any volunteer training?
The SFBA has volunteer guidelines for the Site Steward program on sfba.org/safety. Boardsports (info@boardsportscalifornia.com) is a Site Steward sponsor and offers free volunteer training on kiteboarding launch/land/safety/self rescue best practices.
What do volunteers receive?
Volunteers receive a Site Steward shirts and hoodies to wear while they promote safety at their local ride spot. The SFBA will also host a season end party and raffle where volunteers can win items donated from the Site Steward program sponsors.
I am not able to volunteer but how can I contribute to the cause?
We encourage anyone wishing to contribute to the Site Steward program to donate to the SFBA (to help fund the cost of the Site Steward t-shirts and sweatshirts). You can donate at sfba.org/join-us.

We are looking for Site Steward program sponsors that can donate items for the season end raffle that will raise funds to cover the cost of the shirts and sweatshirts for the volunteers, and provide raffle prizes for the volunteers.
